Rule sets of this board game
This game is a classic board game that follows a set of rules to ensure fair and engaging gameplay. Here are the fundamental rules:
- Object Of The Game: The objective of Monopoly is to become the wealthiest player by buying, renting, and trading properties while collecting rent from opponents.
- Setting Up The Game: Each player chooses a token and places it on the "GO" space. Each player starts with a set amount of money (usually $1500) and the Bank holds all the property deeds, houses, hotels, and money.
- Taking Turns: Players of Monopoly will take turns in a clockwise direction. On your turn, you roll the dice and move your token that number of spaces clockwise around the board. You can then take actions based on the space you land on.
- Property Purchase: If you land on an unowned property, you have the option to buy it from the Bank at the listed price. If you choose not to buy it or cannot afford it, the property is auctioned off to the highest bidder.
- Rent And Income: If you land on a property owned by another player, you must pay them the specified rent. If you own all properties of the same color, you can collect higher rent from opponents.
- Chance And Community Chest: Landing on Chance or Community Chest spaces triggers drawing a card from the corresponding deck. These cards can result in various outcomes, such as gaining or losing money, moving to a different space, or receiving a "Get Out of Jail Free" card.
- Jail: Landing on the "Go to Jail" space, drawing a specific card, or rolling doubles three times in a row can send you to Jail. While in Jail, you can try to roll doubles to get out, pay bail, or use a "Get Out of Jail Free" card.
- Houses And Hotels: After acquiring a complete color set, you have the option to build houses and hotels on your properties, increasing the rent. You must pay the Bank the specified amount for each house/hotel.
- Bankruptcy: If a player cannot afford to pay rent, taxes, or other debts, they are declared bankrupt. All their assets are returned to the Bank, and the game continues without them.
- Game End: The game ends when only one player remains solvent, and all others have gone bankrupt. The remaining player is declared the winner.
